I had a very busy night! I was trying to get ready for tomorrow the house, finishing up last minute, small projects, baking, etc. The baking took up most of the night and then Alex's aunt who is in town dropped by so of course she got the grand tour! Anyway, check it out! This was my first experience with gel food coloring, pretty cool :-)

Makes me think of "Hook" when they have the food fight :-)

What do you think?

So what is it?

Groovy, baby! I can't ruin the surprise ;-)

Ok, to start, how freakin' awesome is this cake my mom made?! Amazing!!

So, Alex and I are making more progress...last night we stayed up late spackling and patching the dining room getting it ready for paint. As you can see in the photo, it was mid-primed on the left. Because it's fresh drywall, it soaks up a lot of paint so it's best to prime it first.

Anyway, here's another shot...

It's a dirty job! This is Alex after sanding the room...

Nice! Take that outside, buddy!

What do you think of the color? I love it :-) It's very soothing and calm. We will be starting the floors in here later today and hopefully getting most of it done tomorrow. Then it will be almost done totally!

Oh, and here's the front room...almost complete. The nice, serene green in the dining room makes the front room green look freaky! I'm not sure I like it as much anymore, haha

I hope everyone's weekend is going well :-)

Busy weekend!

Well, it was a very productive and busy weekend! As you can see in this photo, Alex and I made some progress on the front room floors. It's coming along much faster than the first room we did as we understand the process better and have had more practice. I'd hoped to get more done this weekend but other projects intervened...see below...

This is a silly half wall we never liked and always ran into. Why not open it up?

So we did!

And finally open and free! This is the view from the kitchen. It feels much nicer and transitions better...more light as well

AND for the biggest parents new kitten!!

He is nameless right now but I suggested "Stotch" Leopold "Butters" Stotch ;-)

He is the cutest thing ever and mom and dad left him at the house with Alex and I for several hours.

The kitty thought my hair would taste good but apparently it wasn't. Makes him look like he's smiling though!

He likes to ride on my mom's shoulder

He even fell asleep in the crook of Alex's arm...awwww!

Glowing kitty!!

So I did this shoot the other day with my friend Andrea's little boy Brennan. I did a shoot with him 6 months ago when he was about 3 months old. Boy has he grown! He is developing quite a little personality and is just the happiest baby I know! He smiles all the time. these are some of my favorites from the day.

Such a cutie :-)

He is so sweet with his daddy (I believe they were looking up at mom)

National Cathedral

Alright, so I finally finished editing the photos from the wedding I shot at the National Cathedral and I'm going to upload some of them...ok, a lot of them. So bear with me. It will also span over two posts so check out the next one too

Some of the groomsmen, including the groom, were highly decorated

Nobody knew how to tie a bow-tie...iPhone and YouTube to the rescue!

The groom showing off his sword

Groom sneaking up behind the bride for the "reveal"

Seriously, what a beautiful couple!

I think the bride looks like Charlotte from Sex and the City. Don't you?

Post-ceremony fun :-) She was throwing her long veil in the air
