I know I've been a bad blogger and it's going to get worse this next week because I'll be here

So bear with me and I'll catch you up when I return!

Joysey Wedding

Here is Alex enjoying his new grill!

Mmm, he's making steaks!

I also shot a wedding in New Jersey on Saturday.  It was about a 3 hour drive and a full 10 hour day!  I got home at 2:30 this morning

The wedding was Catholic; which Cassidy and I seem to do a lot of.  These ceremonies are extremely long because they do a full mass

It was a nice-looking church; really great lighting!

Beautiful bridal and bridesmaid bouquets

The happy couple!

Sushi during the cocktail hour.  They had TONS of great food; pasta station, meat carving station, fried calamari, Asian station, etc.  We, unfortunately, did not get any of this food.
Nice fruit cups with star fruit in them

The funniest part about the whole day is that Cassidy realized he didn't bring his clothes.  He opened his bag which had shoes, socks, a belt and a dress jacket.  We had to make a mad-dash to Target.  Above is the outfit he had to buy.  As he can tell, he was not too happy about the over-sized, cheap clothing.  We sure laughed about it though
Grandparents admiring baby photos
Father and daughter
The bridesmaids definitely  had a great night!

Look how sweet this older couple is!
What a fun but exhausting wedding!  10 hours sure is a long day.

I got my big manly man of a husband a big manly man present for his birthday today!  You can see our poor, pathetic excuse of a grill behind it.

We had said we'd get ourselves a new grill once we finished our deck but we really needed an operational grill.  So here it is!

Cute Overload!

I think about 8 months ago I submitted this to CuteOverload and they finally posted it!  Happy to see the little guy up there even though I no longer have him.  Enjoy the cuteness!

Double rainbow

I got to see a double-rainbow today!  If my house were a bit higher on the block I could have seen more but I was pretty happy to get almost the full arc

I love these brief evening storms that roll in fast and then comes the sun shortly after

Reinventing my childhood

I'm willing to bet you ate these things as a kid...a lot of them.  I know I did!  It was the one thing (that and Double-Stuff Oreos) that my mom would buy for my brother and I

How do you feel about homemade oatmeal cream pies?  I made a bunch this morning and they rock!

This is a recipe you gotta make!  It's a little more time-consuming than your regular cookie but boy is it worth it

I had my reliable taste-tester on hand

See the childlike excitement on his face?  Yeah, they're that good!

Here's the recipe, because I know you're going to run out to the store to get the ingredients for this right now ;-)  You're welcome

Dining room

This past weekend Alex and I finally tackled one of our least favorite tasks; crown molding.  It is such a pain to install

But we finished it and it's incredible how much it finishes off a room; don't you think?

I also painted our master bath a robins-egg blue.  It changes color depending on the light.  It's more green at night and more blue in the daytime.  It's actually darker than what it looks like in the picture here

Last night Alex and I celebrated our second wedding anniversary at 2941 in Falls Church

I took my little point and shoot so you will have to excuse the quality

It was a great night for it

We got the 4 course meal;  tuna tartar, jumbo scallops, guinea fowl (pictured above) and then chocolate truffle

This is the chocolate truffle with raspberry ice cream.  It was ridiculously good!

And this was Alex's dessert; chocolate with apricot and some honey ice cream; also very good!
